In 2012 , the Barden Bellas fought to regain their singing title in the first movie of the Pitch Perfect franchise. This was followed by Pitch Perfect 2 in 2015, and Pitch Perfect 3 in 2017. The films pull the audience into a fun and quirky world of collegiate a cappella groups, where competition is strong but full of energy. The movies brought the American public characters such as Beca Mitchell, Bumper Allen, and Fat Amy. They also established Rebel Wilson’s distinctive comedic style. and made being plus-sized cool.
My favorite of the series is the first Pitch Perfect movie. The witty humor keeps the audience laughing and having a good time throughout the movie. The fun isn’t just with the quick and clever banter between characters, but also the outstanding performances. Going from the intense and hilarious rehearsals or the spectacular final performances, the movie makes you understand the passion and dedication behind a cappella music.
The Pitch Perfect series is truly incredible with the actors and the amazing vocals. It’s a classic film showcasing realistic college fraternity versus sorority rivalry and antics. It definitely hits for all the music lovers, with the wide range of timeless classics that are used in the singing battles and on the soundtrack in general.
In spite of it being a comedy, the characters have beautifully written complexities, and we see that throughout the ever-growing relationship and sisterhood that blossoms within the Barden Bellas. You can see how they all grow to care for each other and have each other’s backs with everything they endure through from the first movie to the last.
Overall, Pitch Perfect is a wonderful feel good movie that’s as fun and hilarious as it is inspiring. The film captures friendship, competition, and the joy and dedication of making music with the talent of just your voice. It’s definitely a must watch for anyone who loves a good laugh but also wants to experience the art and beauty of a cappella in an exciting and fresh way.
