Renewable Energy Design Challenge

On Wednesday November 5th, students from Walkersville High School’s Engineering program had the exciting opportunity to visit Bechtel Corporate Headquarters to take part in a Renewable Energy Design Challenge. Led by Mr. Kint and Mr. Schoeneman, students collaborated in teams, engaged in hands-on problem solving, and presented their ideas to engineers currently working in the field. This experience was made possible through a partnership with Engineering Tomorrow, giving students real-world exposure to sustainable energy solutions and the engineering careers shaping our future.

FCPS All County Honors Band,

Chorus, and Orchestra

Mr. Loy and Mrs. VanGilder Martin are proud to announce the audition results of the FCPS All County Honors Band, Chorus, and Orchestra.  These students successfully prepared, auditioned and were accepted to participate in the Festival and the month of evening rehearsals leading up to the event. Congratulations to Ethan Burdick and Zyan Sims for being selected to represent WHS and our community at this years conference @ Towson University.

HOBY stands for Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership. It is a non-profit organization founded by actor Hugh O’Brian to inspire and develop young people to become leaders, with a focus on service and innovation. HOBY offers programs and seminars for high school students to develop their leadership potential. It’s a mark of their leadership potential that these two young men have been chosen.
