One of the lasting legacy’s of the Pandemic is the number of food trucks throughout Frederick County, but choosing the right one can be tricky. How do you know which ones have the best food, the best menu choices, and the best hygiene? We asked, and here’s what WHS students had to say.
R.C, a tenth grader, said his favorite food truck is The Ville snow cone truck. His go to order is an orange snow cone, and he recommends it for anyone trying it. While he loves the snow cones, he would also like to see more Mexican food trucks around.
One student, Jessica M, a tenth grader, said her favorite food truck is Glamour View creamery. She said, “Every time either my mom or I see it, we text each other to ask if the other wants anything.” Anytime she goes to Glamour view she says she’s never disappointed with what she gets, so she doesn’t have a go to order. For anyone new trying this food truck she recommends a plain ice cream or milkshake of your favorite flavor. She would like to see more of the Taqueria Doña Reyna food truck, though! E.H, a 9th grade student, says she also likes Glamour View. She especially likes the warm foods they have like soup and mac and cheese. The truck she would like to see more of is for grilled cheese, and she recommends the ice cream from Dairy View.
Sophomore E.O says he likes the dairy bar, His favorite go-to order is a chocolate milkshake, and he recommends that for anyone trying it.
Another student, D.A, said she likes Grilled Cheese Please. Her favorite go to order is the Hawaiian grilled cheese, and she recommends her go to for anyone new trying the food truck. Senior, Jamelia Tubman, says she likes Glamour View too — and would like to see more of it. Her go-to order is an apple crisp with frozen custard during the winter and fall. For anyone new trying the trick she recommends vanilla ice cream or custard.
While lots of students seem to love the ice cream trucks, many others prefer their food warmer, and with a bit more flavor. Tenth grader L.R. says her favorite food truck has to be Traditional Authentic Mexican Food. She usually orders three carne asadas with water. She recommends the asadas because they are a good option for people who don’t like spice. G.B, also likes Traditional Authentic Mexican Food. He loves their burrito loco and anything with lots of different spices and flavors. For future food trucks he recommends a food truck that treats their customers well and puts love into their food. He would like to see more of the Husky Hut Coffee company!
Sophomore Caroline Shabelski, said her favorite food truck is Arepa Queen; her go to order form there is the chicken and cheese arepa and the cheese empanada. For anyone new trying Arepa Queen, she recommends just picking anything off the menu!
Jake McNiesh, a senior, says he likes Grilled Cheese Please, and he would like to see more of it! His go-to order is grilled cheese with American cheese, and he recommends any grilled cheese from there.
